With reference to Mr. Ormsby Gore's despatch

No.45 of 2nd February, 1928, on the subject of the parcel

post service from the United Kingdom to the Far East, I have

the honour to inform you that notice of the following

question at the next meeting of the Legislative Council has

been given by Mr. J. Owen Hughes, the nominee of the

Chamber of Commerce:-

Will the Government inform the Council what progress

has been made in the representation to the Postal Authorities in London, with regard to a weekly Parcels

Mail service between the United Kingdom and Hong Kong?"

2.

This matter is regarded as of great

importance by the local business community, and I venture to enquire whether any reply has been received from the

Postmaster-General to Sir G. Grindle's letter of 30th

January, 1928, which forms the last enclosure to the

despatch under reference.

I have the honour to be,

Sir,

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE
